About Cole Swindell
Cole Swindell is a country singer-songwriter who got his start writing singles for artists including: Craig Campbell, Thomas Rhett, Scotty McCreery, and Luke Bryan. He got his start in songwriting while he attended Georgia Southern University. He met Luke Bryan during his time there where both of them became members of Sigma Chi. They kept in touch over the years even after Swindell left college in 2007 to move to Nashville, where he sold merchandise for Bryan and wrote songs while on the road.
This led to a publishing deal he signed with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2010.
After this deal, he wrote Craig Campbell’s “Outta My Head” as well as several songs for Luke Bryan including “Just a Sip”. His talent at writing music led to him finding more work as a songwriter for several of the big names of the time, which may have pushed him towards a more formal music career.
Then in 2013, he independently released his debut single “Chillin’ It” which saw a lot of airtime on satellite radio channel “The Highway” on Sirius XM. The song found fast success, climbing up the charts and getting him noticed by major record labels.
He eventually signed onto Warmer Music Nashville. This led to the 2014 release of his self-titled debut album. The album produced the singles “Chillin’ It”, “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight” and “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey” which all became notable hits on this record. With “Chillin’ It” becoming a top-five hit on the Country Airplay chart and a #1 single on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Today, Swindell is enjoying the success that came after the release of his fourth studio album, Stereotype on April 8, 2022.
